Every nine years, the love story between Jesse and Celine loses a little bit of its fairy-tale magic and becomes more realistic and everyday.

In Before Midnight, the phrase `connection` is constantly repeated as if director Linklater was determined to want the audience to remember that this entire series celebrates the connection and understanding between people.

But compared to the previous two parts, in Before Midnight, the audience witnessed the most obvious `disconnection`.

`Before Midnight` is set in Southern Greece.

Unlike Before Sunrise or Before Sunset, in Before Midnight there is no suspense of the first meeting or reunion after many years.

Jesse and Celine have been together for nine years.

This makes the audience wonder: `Is there anything left between Jesse and Celine to say to each other after all these years of living together?`.

If in Before Sunrise, when Jesse and Celine, two strangers first met, were ready to open up and talk freely about all sorts of issues, then in Before Sunset, meeting their old friend again, they just quietly probed.

In Before Midnight, it wasn’t until the explosive conversation near the end of the film that the audience realized that in all those years of living together, how many dissatisfactions had been secretly hidden.

But after tense moments that tested the audience’s nerves, in the end Before Midnight is still a love story.

`Before Midnight` is rated by cinema sites as one of the best movies this year.

Before Midnight is realistic yet hopeful.

Before Midnight is a beautiful ending to the three films of the Before… series, but the success of the third part is a hint for the next parts.

Love is always beautiful, always complicated and never lacks stories to tell whether that love is in its twenties, thirties, forties or fifties.
