Thousands of fans were present outside Man City’s home stadium to welcome the club’s two rookies, including Haaland and Julian Alvarez, on the afternoon of July 10.
At the ceremony, when asked about the team he wants to face the most next season, Haaland paused for a moment and replied: `I don’t want to mention the name, but it’s Man Utd.`

Haaland landed at Man City for 63 million USD from Dortmund and received a weekly salary of 460,000 USD, equal to the team’s highest-earning player Kevin de Bruyne.
Haaland revealed that he wanted to go to Eithad Stadium after joining Dortmund against Man City in the quarterfinals of the Champions League 2020-2021 season.
Haaland also became the most expensive striker in Man City history.
Haaland’s father, Alfie – who played for Man City from 2000-2003 – negotiated personal terms with lawyer Rafaela Pimenta.
On January 31, on Alvarez’s 22nd birthday, Man City announced that they would spend $21 million to break the striker’s contract with River Plate.
Man City will only play two summer training matches, against America on July 20 and Bayern on July 23 in the US, before competing in the British Super Cup with Liverpool at King Power Stadium on July 30.
