Tadic, 30 years old, moved from Southampton for $14 million, while Blind, 29, caused Ajax to pay Man Utd up to $18 million in transfer fees.

Blind and Tadic hugged each other happily after defeating Juventus in the quarterfinals of the Champions League.

As a center forward, Tadic scored 34 goals and assisted 21 times in 51 matches with Ajax in all competitions this season.

The amount of money Ajax spent to buy a pair of players from the Premier League may be considered cheap in the foggy country, but is a risky investment in the Netherlands.

However, the decision to buy a pair of players who were considered mid-range in the Premier League was not unfounded.
