Camping is one of the favorite activities of young people, having both private space and the ability to prepare everything yourself for a true picnic.
Dong Cao Plateau, Bac Giang
Dong Cao Plateau, `Mau Son` of Bac Giang province, belongs to Thac Son commune, Son Dong district, 140 km from Hanoi.
In the middle of desolate mountains and forests, Dong Cao is green as far as the eye can see with low hills creating a special scene.
How to get around: From Hanoi to Chu, the provincial road passes through lychee gardens.
Time: 1.5 to 2 days.
Note: You can go from noon on Saturday, arrive early before it’s completely dark to set up camp, sleep one night in the middle of the plateau and return to Hanoi on Sunday.
Co To water waves, Quang Ninh
Co To Island is located in Quang Ninh province, about 1.5 hours by speedboat from Van Don wharf.
Co To Island has three beautiful beaches: Uncle Ho Beach is right outside the entrance of the island. From the wharf you can see this nearly 15 km long beach running all the way to the end of the island.
How to travel: You take a car from Hanoi to Van Don port, Quang Ninh, 220 km from Hanoi, travel time about 4 – 5 hours.
Time: 5 days and cost about 3 million VND
Note: Food on the island is not rich and varied, so if you go in a large group, you should buy it and bring it along.
Explore the depths of Ly Son, Quang Ngai
Ly Son Island in Quang Ngai province is located more than 20km from the city, 1 hour from the coast by speedboat.
The end of the island near Duc Pagoda is an ideal camping place, protected by many trees and sheltered from the wind.
How to get around: From Hanoi, take a flight to Da Nang, from Da Nang, take a passenger car to Quang Ngai, continue to take a bus to Sa Ky port.
Time: 5 to 7 days and cost about 5 million VND
Note: Remember to bring enough food, water and basic items if you intend to camp.
